Personal Finance Templates

How much does your debt really cost? Which debts should you pay down first? Need to compare mortgage pay-off strategies? There are free personal finance spreadsheets and calculators that may offer just the tool you need, without having to purchase expensive software. Google Doc templates are available for online use, or you can download and convert it into other programs like Excel.

If you desire to operate on an open source basis, OpenOffice.org has both downloadable programs and community-contributed finance templates at the | OpenOffice.org Website.

In both cases the templates are often created by individuals, universities, and organizations all over the world. Simple to complex, in a variety of languages and designed to meet the conditions and requirements in a number of countries, thousands of offerings include:

Google Doc's bill pay tracker, debt-to-income-ratio calculator, and Cardan Debt Avalanche for accelerated debt payoff planning

The bond yield calculator in OpenOffice can help you calculate your "cross-over point", if you've invested your savings in bonds. See Step 8 if you don't yet know what a cross-over point is.
